For this project, I have found inspiration in tow different artists and works of art, both of which would lend themselves to different project types.
Option #1: Jim Lambie
The inspiration I would take from this art is the idea of taking parts functional spaces and making them into art whereby the space is still fully functional. As example, Lambie puts designs made of tape on floors and stairways, yet the spaces are still able to function.
Option #2: Christo and Jeanne-Claude
Using this as a starting point, I would take the idea of putting arbitrary colored objects into the environment. Christo and Jeanne-Claude are a married couple who create environmental works of art. They are well known for “The Gates” where they installed 7,503 gates made of orange fabric along the paths in Central Park.
